Back in 1956, my mother was told that her father (who she never knew) left her money as she was his only bio child. Relatives told her that the adopted son received the money as my mother could not be found. Can that be the case? And if so, how can we find out who the money was given to. Thank you for any information you can direct us to.

Hello Alexi,
I was raised in Breese IL, close to St. Louis, MO.
In 1950, I was born in the area of Yokohama Japan.
Then in 1955, I was adopted by Mr & Mrs Edward Boeckman (both are deceased now) thru Catholic Charities in Belleville IL.
I have two questions: One might be obvious, how do I find out if I have any siblings? It comes in handy for family medical history inquiry.
Second, I am having a really hard time getting a passport since I do not have originals of my paper work. I have all my paper work from my mother but none of them are originals, only copies, and then the copies are not certified. That is my problem, not certified copies.
Can you help me on any of this?
I have not had any luck contacting Catholic Charities at all.
Please email me (serious_looker@juno.com).
